What's a VEED video compressor alternative without a watermark?
VEED's free compressor takes files up to 1 GB but exports at 720p with a watermark burned in. For a clean copy at no cost, our free online video compressor adds no watermark, keeps up to the original resolution and never uploads the video. VEED suits people who want a full online editor.
We make OctoZip and the online video compressor, so read this with that in mind. We're not connected with VEED (Veed Limited). Every fact about VEED comes from its own website, help centre and Google Play listing, checked on 1 November 2026 and linked where it's used. We didn't export a video from VEED for this page.

What does VEED do better?
VEED is an editor first, and its compressor sits inside it. That brings things a single-purpose compressor doesn't have:
- Finer controls. Besides a quality slider, its help page lists resolution, bitrate, CRF and a frame-rate cap, with a live estimate of the file size as you change them. Ours offers presets, a target size and a resolution choice.
- More input formats. VEED names MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WEBM, WMV and GIF. Our online compressor reads MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM and MKV, not AVI or WMV.
- Videos from a link. Its compress tool can import from a link as well as from your device.
- Editing in the same place. If the video needs cutting, text or other changes before it's sent, a paid plan gives you "more editing tools" next to the compressor. Our tools only compress; neither trims.
- Bigger paid uploads and 4K. Paid plans have no per-file limit and Pro exports up to 4K.
When is a VEED alternative the better choice?
When you want the free copy clean and sharp, a size without guesswork, or the video kept off other people's servers.
- No watermark, free. On VEED's free plan the watermark is "put on all exported videos", and VEED says it's "hardcoded into the video". Our online compressor and the OctoZip app add none.
- 1080p or 4K without paying. VEED's free exports are 720p only. Ours keeps the original resolution with High quality, for a YouTube upload, say.
- An exact limit. VEED's advice for a size limit is to "drag the compression slider until the file size estimate drops under your limit". Our Target size takes the number you type, aims about 5% under it and makes a second pass if the copy still comes out over.
- Private videos. VEED compresses an uploaded copy. Its privacy policy says content uploaded by free users may be used to develop its products, "including training and developing any relevant artificial intelligence models", excluding uploads from its mobile apps, and that free users who opt out must delete the account or upgrade. Our tools never upload the video.
What does 20 MB for Discord hold?
Not much: about 1.3 Mbps for a 2-minute video, which suits a picture smaller than 720p. That's why the settings matter more than the tool.
Discord's own help page gave free accounts 20 MB a file when we last checked it, on 28 October 2026 (details in compressing a video for Discord). VEED's own pages give two numbers: 20 MB on its main compressor page and 10 MB on its Discord compressor page. Check Discord's page before a big upload.

The resolution rule is from Android Developers' best practices for sharing video. On VEED's free plan the same file would come out at 720p, carrying that much bitrate over more pixels, and with the watermark. The compressor's figures are estimates from its planning code; real results vary with what's in the picture.
How do I compress a video on VEED?
Upload it, choose a quality, check the estimate, then export. From VEED's help page on compressing:
- Open VEED's video compressor and upload the video (up to 1 GB on the free plan), or import it from a link.
- Wait for the upload to finish.
- Choose a level with the quality selector and, if you like, a resolution. Advanced Settings has bitrate and the other controls.
- Watch the size estimate, then export and download the MP4. On the free plan it's 720p with the watermark.
How do I compress without a watermark or an upload?
Use our free online video compressor in recent Chrome or Edge, on a phone or a computer. This button opens it set for Discord: under 20 MB.
Compress for Discord in your browser
- Tap Choose a video. The page shows its size, length and resolution.
- Keep the Discord setting, or choose Small file, Medium, High quality or another Target size. Each shows an estimate before you start.
- Tap Compress video and keep the tab open until it finishes.
- Play the copy on the page, then Download it, or Share it on a phone.
It does one video at a time, up to about 1–2 GB, and always makes an MP4. Safari is slower and sometimes stops part way.
What about compressing on a phone?
VEED has an Android app, VEED – AI Video Creation, with 1K+ downloads and an update on 14 October 2026; its description doesn't mention compression. Our online compressor works in Chrome on Android, and OctoZip, our app, compresses on the phone without an internet connection:
- Install OctoZip from Google Play and tap Pick a video.
- Choose Small file (easy share), Medium file or Best Quality, then tap Start Compression.
- Tap Compare to check the copy against the original, then Save compressed video.

Questions people ask
Is VEED's video compressor free?
Yes, for files up to 1 GB, and VEED's help page says there's "no limit on how many times it can be used". Free exports are 720p with a watermark; the paid plans remove it.
How do I remove the VEED watermark?
VEED's paid plans, from Creator up, export without the watermark. On a video already exported from the free plan it's part of the picture: VEED says it's "hardcoded into the video". Compressing the original with a tool that adds no watermark avoids it.
Does VEED keep my video?
Its privacy policy gives no set period for uploads; it says personal data is kept "for as long as reasonably necessary". Our online compressor never receives your video, and our privacy policy says what the website itself counts.
Does VEED have a Discord preset?
It has a Discord compressor page that uses the same resolution and quality controls with a size estimate, not a one-tap setting. Ours has a Discord setting that aims under 20 MB: open it here.
